Modern Terrain by Ryan McAbery (Portland, OR)

Distinctive and one-of-a-kind works of art created by artist Ryan McAbery using fine lines of white ink pen atop reproduction transparencies originally procured from the Parks Department of Oregon.

Drawing on the street and topography lines, Ryan pulls beautiful locally-inspired imagery out of the maps with all the detail preserved within. Her original photography is printed on aluminum to become the luminous background to which she affixes the finished acrylic transparency to become a 3 dimensional floating frame that is suitable for indoor or sheltered outdoor mounting.
