Celebrating 11 Years of Handmade!

Did you know? We actually started our adventure back in June 2015 as a temporary weekend pop-up at Pacific Place, featuring the work of 35 local artists. After a few months of weekends, we decided to take the leap and open full-time on November 1, 2015.

Eleven years, four different spaces around Pacific Place, and an absolutely ridiculous number of packed and unpacked boxes later, we're still here!

Today, The Handmade Showroom represents more than 260 independent artists and makers from the Pacific Northwest and all across the US. And after all these years, we still get excited when we open a box of new arrivals or watch someone discover something they absolutely love!

When we think about what makes these eleven years so special, we keep coming back to the people.

The Artists Who Make It All Possible

One of the greatest joys of running The Handmade Showroom has been getting to know so many incredibly talented artists.

Some have been with us since the early days. Others have joined us along the way, bringing fresh ideas, new perspectives, and wonderful surprises to our shelves.

Every piece in our store has a person and a story behind it.

We've had the privilege of watching artists develop their work, grow their businesses, and explore new creative directions. We know just how much imagination, skill, and dedication goes into making something by hand. Being trusted to share those stories and represent their work is something we never take for granted.

To all of our artists, past and present, thank you for letting us be part of your creative journey. You're the reason we continue to do what we do.

The People Who Make the Showroom Feel Like Home

Our helpers bring so much of themselves to The Handmade Showroom. They get excited about new arrivals, remember customers and their stories, and genuinely enjoy helping someone find just the right thing. Some have been with us for years, and each brings their own personality, creativity, and sense of humor to the store.

When people tell us we're the friendliest store in the mall, we know exactly who deserves the credit.

To our helpers, thank you for caring about this place and the people who walk through our doors. You make The Handmade Showroom what it is every single day. We wouldn't be here without you!

And Then There Are Our Customers!

One of our favorite things about the Showroom is watching someone discover something they didn't even know they were looking for.

Maybe it's a mug that reminds them of their best friend. A pair of earrings that feels like it was made just for them. Or something so wonderfully weird and specific that they immediately know exactly who needs to own it. That little moment of discovery never gets old.

Over the years, we've met people from all over the world, welcomed returning customers who feel like old friends, and watched people bring their own friends and families upstairs to explore.

Every purchase supports the independent artists whose work fills our shelves, and it helps keep this little handmade haven in the heart of downtown Seattle.

We love hearing your stories, helping you find just the right gift, and seeing what makes you laugh or stop for a closer look. Every time you tell someone about us, bring a friend to visit, or choose to shop small, you're helping our story continue.

Here's to Eleven Years, and All That's Still to Come!

When we first started in 2015, we couldn't have imagined all the people we'd meet or how much this little shop would become part of all of our lives.

There have been plenty of challenges along the way, but there has also been so much laughter, creativity, friendship, and joy. We're grateful for all of it, especially for the people who have helped us get here.

We're looking forward to discovering more amazing artists, sharing more handmade treasures, and welcoming you through our doors for years to come!
